History
Santa Clara Parish was established on February 1, 1885 by early pioneer farming families and has a long distinguished history on the annals of Ventura County. The current Santa Clara Parish building was preceded by the Santa Clara Catholic Chapel. The first mass held at the chapel was in 1877. In the early years, the territory included all the areas south of the Santa Clara River. Today, the parish population is composed of 3200 families living in north Oxnard.

The current Santa Clara Parish Church opened its doors after construction was completed in 1904. At the time, its spire towered over the flat wilderness of the new township (Oxnard). The building is of Gothic design and was considered a monument at the time. Through the years, the labors of many (pastors and families) have sowed a rich harvest. The educational community has been well served by Santa Clara Elementary Shool.

The Chapel is still standing and serves the El Río community, on the outskirts of Oxnard. The Chapel is located at 1333 East Ventura Boulevard, Oxnard, California. It can be reached at (805) 485-7335.

The Parish is located at 323 South E Street.  The Elementary school is located accross from the church at 324 South E Street.
